Before listening to this show, make sure you’re sitting down. During today’s show we are going to be listening to some horrible, yet funny news about the British MP from today’s’ special guest Christopher Hitchens, who is just back from London and as you know is a great columnist for Vanity Fair and author of the best seller God is not Good.
So Mr. Hitchens let’s reveal the secret for listeners on the worst scandal in the history by the British MPs of both Labor camps, Hugh says to Christopher. Well, you’re not very well remunerated if you’re a member of Parliament in Britain. You are expected to have a home, have travelling expenses and are allowed to claim various things, but if you claim $4,000 dollars for cleaning the moat you will be a bit of fool when it’s published in the Daily Telegraph. Yes, that’s happening with David Miliband, Great Britain’s Foreign Secretary.
I hope listeners and reader won’t mind, some male MP has also claimed expenses for a box of tampons. Female MPs are not behind, they have claimed expenses for online pornography for their husband who aren’t members of parliament. Listen the Podcast to get the real tone from Mr. Hitchens on these scandals coming out of Great Britain.
Moving on, Hugh Hewitt throws a tricky question about Social Health Care to Hitchens. Christopher Hitchens, since you’ve been served by both the British health care system and the American health care system, which is preferable? Listen explore Christopher Hitchens’ overview as he compares both health care systems.
Finally, there is a segment on Michael Steele and Richard Cheney. Was Steele right to say that he was one of those conservatives who based everything on the three greet gurus – William Buckley, Ronald Reagan and Edmund Burke? And what is Hitchens’ stand regarding Rechard Cheney – either he will welcome or oppose the return of Cheney on the list? Listen to explore all the insights and share your thoughts.
